The Official Hackathon of Queen's University

We’re bringing together students from all over North America for a wild 36 hours - designing, developing, demoing, game-playing, and yoga-doing from our home base at Queen’s University. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned veteran, QHacks has something to satisfy your interests! This weekend is about inclusiveness for all disciplines - students from any level of skill, from any field of study, are encouraged to bring their innovative ideas for a weekend of virtual problem-solving! The only prerequisites for this weekend are a love for tech and drive to learn! We can't wait to see you there!

Only participants who have been accepted and confirmed their spots through the application portal on QHacks website are permitted to submit their projects through Devpost.

All prizes will be split between the number of team members within the group. In addition to the monetary prizes, winners will have the opportunity for a virtual meet-and-greet with HOTG’s Co-Founder, Kartik Thakore, for an exclusive Q&A.

Mayor’s Innovation Challenge Prize (2)

- Direct entry to the Mayor’s Innovation Challenge
- An opportunity to [win paid internships with the City of Kingston] OR [admission to a 4-month incubator program with the Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre] where you will be granted a $7000 stipend for up to 3 co-founders, up to $4000 seed capital to build a venture around your idea, along with full participation in the Queen's Innovation Centre Summer Initiative.

AssemblyAI Prize

- $100 Amazon Gift
The winning team that builds the best project using the AssemblyAI API will receive a $100 Amazon gift card per team member!

Register a .tech domain name using Domain.com during the weekend. Each team may submit one entry per person on the team. Each winning team member will receive a PowerSquare Qi wireless phone charger.

    Weight: 10 | Application of project is in an unexpected or original manner. The project has the potential to impact peoples’ lives positively and solve important social issues.
  • Pitch
    Weight: 10 | Presentation was complete and well explained. Team provided an impressive experience from start to end.
